Expecto Patronum

"Grandma, why are you painting on newspaper?"
"Because I can."

I'm not doing any kind of tutorial - the inter-web-nets is dang slow here in the South.  Dang slow.  It took about 10 minutes to upload the photo- and that was on the third or fourth try.

Here's how to do it:
  •  Make up fake modge podge (Elmer's glue diluted with water)
  • Apply ripped up pieces of newspaper (phone book pages would work too) to canvas. There should be a layer of modge podge under and on top of all of the paper.  Wrap the paper around the edges. Let dry.
  • trace silhouette of deer, then fill in with black paint.
  • stencil lettering on using Tangelo Orange paint. Stencil is 4" tall "Nuevo" letters (from Michael's).

This was my Pinterest inspiration.

  1. 10 points for Tangelo Orange paint. 25 points for creative license (news print is fabulous!) and changing the orientation of the buck - I like yours better. 50 points for doing with two grandkids at your knee, elbow, wrist, face... 85 points awarded.
