"Grandma, why are you painting on newspaper?" "Because I can." |
I'm not doing any kind of tutorial - the inter-web-nets is dang slow here in the South. Dang slow. It took about 10 minutes to upload the photo- and that was on the third or fourth try.
Here's how to do it:
- Make up fake modge podge (Elmer's glue diluted with water)
- Apply ripped up pieces of newspaper (phone book pages would work too) to canvas. There should be a layer of modge podge under and on top of all of the paper. Wrap the paper around the edges. Let dry.
- trace silhouette of deer, then fill in with black paint.
- stencil lettering on using Tangelo Orange paint. Stencil is 4" tall "Nuevo" letters (from Michael's).
This was my Pinterest inspiration. |
10 points for Tangelo Orange paint. 25 points for creative license (news print is fabulous!) and changing the orientation of the buck - I like yours better. 50 points for doing with two grandkids at your knee, elbow, wrist, face... 85 points awarded.
